Care: Prefers moist, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Water regularly to keep soil evenly damp, especially during dry spells. No routine fertiliser is necessary; a light mulch of compost in spring encourages lush growth. Thrives in containers—choose a pot at least 6 inches deep with good drainage.
Allergen Information: Low allergy risk—blooms June–September. Produces minimal pollen but attracts pollinators; individual sensitivities may vary and can develop over time.
Pet Safety Notice: “Pet Friendly” means this plant is generally considered safe to be touched, sniffed, or ingested by dogs, cats, and rabbits. No plant should be deliberately eaten in large quantities, as digestive upset may occur if it’s unfamiliar to the body. Individual allergies or sensitivities can develop, so Pocket Wilds always suggests supervision when introducing new plants to curious hands, paws, or mouths.
* Edible Parts & Preparation: Young leaves and flowers—harvest fresh for use in salads, sandwiches, or herbal teas. Slightly drying intensifies its mild, minty flavor.
