Leucanthemum vulgareA cheerful perennial with classic white petals and bright yellow discs adorning sunny borders, meadow edges, and cottage gardens. Pairs beautifully with Lotus corniculatus (Bird’s-foot Trefoil), Myosotis arvensis (Field Forget-me-not), and Stellaria media (Common Chickweed), all pet-friendly and sharing its love of sun-drenched, well-drained soils. In Victorian times, daisies symbolized innocence and were woven into children’s crowns.

Care: Prefers rich, well-draining loam or sandy soil. Water regularly during dry spells, keeping soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. No routine fertiliser is required if soil is fertile; a light top-dressing of compost each spring encourages robust blooms. Best grown in beds or borders; if container-grown, choose a pot at least 12 inches deep with good drainage.
Allergen Information: Medium allergy risk—blooms June–August. Produces moderate levels of pollen and attracts bees and other pollinators. Individual sensitivities vary and may develop over time.
Pet Safety Notice: “Pet Friendly” means this plant is generally considered safe to be touched, sniffed, or ingested by dogs, cats, and rabbits. No plant should be deliberately eaten in large quantities, as digestive upset may occur if it’s unfamiliar to the body. Individual allergies or sensitivities can develop, so Pocket Wilds always suggests supervision when introducing new plants to curious hands, paws, or mouths.

Each plant will vary in size and shape based on the age at purchase, time of year, and generally because no plants are ever exactly the same as each other.
